Time for The Purge LA?

Los Angeles, CA - On Monday, the state Department of Finance reported that Los Angeles had surpassed a population milestone - adding yet another 335,000 residents to our already sparsely populated, traffic-free city – bringing the grand total over 4 MILLION. More specifically, 4,042,000 . . .

Let that number sink in.

While our City of Angels is by far the most heavily populated in California (with San Diego a distant second at 1,392,000), it still pales in comparison to NYC’s whopping 8.5 million residents.

Let’s also not forget that NYC is only about 305 square miles, while LA is roughly 200 square miles larger at 503 square miles. Basically they’re cramming in double the amount of people into a space 3/5th’s the size . . . how bout dat NYC skyline though.

So don’t fret my fellow Angelinos, it’s not as bad as it could be. And on a global scale, LA isn’t even close to the top of the list – according to most estimations, we don’t even make the top 60.

There’s three cities (Shanghai, Karachi, and Beijing) with an estimated population above 20 MILLION PEOPLE – 5 times the amount we’re complaining about.

So let’s all just simmer down and be thankful we a have a plethora of beaches and bars to unwind at amongst this seemingly infinite array of individuals.
