#YoThisSlaps: LA Music You'll Want to Hear no. 1

This is the debut edition of #YoThisSlaps— SLAP's weekly list of underground, LA music that you'll wanna hear. Hip-hop will be the main focus, but no genre is off limits! Any artist qualifies to be on the list; the music being submitted just has to be no more than a month old. Send submissions to slapmediala@gmail.com.
Ash Riser - Moon Cry ft. Papo and Mike G.
Ash Riser is an LA singer with a timeless voice and the ability to tell some captivating stories about his life in the city. 'Moon Cry' is a joint about Ash realizing he's better off without his girl; it's got a chilled out feel to it, something to drop the top too (or roll the windows down). He links with Odd Future's Mike G and Long Beach rapper Papo for the smooth track.
Mari Ruger - On My Sh*t (Video)
Mari Ruger is a rapper out of LA under Rosecrans Ent.—an independent label in the city. His new video 'On My Sh*t' is full of hard-hitting bars and an unfiltered narrative of LA's streets that is worth a listen.
Wil$on - RAIN
This LA rapper has a style all his own. Creative wordplay and bars that'll leave your head spinning make 'Rain' a song worth adding to your rotation.
Trae Suave - Regular Guy
LA's rap scene may be booming, but R&B is alive in the city too. Trae Suave is a South Central based singer with a voice that compares to Usher. 'Regular Guy' shows off his vocal talent and songwriting. Check him out before he blows.
foreign forest - California
This LA singer has an insanely awesome sound. 'California' is a melodic cover of a track by Metro Station. He calls himself an Indie artist, but foreign forest's music is something you can't really label, just have to listen.
