03 Greedo - Slavin Over Stoves
Watts rapper 03 Greedo has been blowing up as of late, and his newest song has the potential to become a real hit. His melodic style kind of resembles Young Thug, but at the same time it’s all his own, and we fuck with it. Listen below:
$ean Ev - Ion Play (prod. ITYB)
This is off of $ean Ev’s first official project ‘Kornblum Ave.’ The whole tape is nice from top to bottom but this one really characterizes his unique ability to combine meaningful lyrics, smooth flows and some exceptional singing. Listen below:
GaryBandana - As Rich As I Can (prod. Jay P Bangz)
This Inglewood artist knows how to make a catchy song. West coast influence is obvious on this one, which is one of the reasons we’re rockin’ with it this week. This is GaryBandana’s first release in a couple months, so hopefully there’s more on the way. Listen below:
LuckyLeek (SNL Mafia) - 44 Bars (prod. Onii)
This is a track off of LuckyLeek’s new EP ‘Just Because.’ Onii’s unconventional sample of ‘Play That Funky Music’ caught our ear at first, but it’s Leek’s nonstop bars and flow that make this such a banger. Listen below:
Katzu Oso - Give It Up To You
This song is almost a month old, but I been listening to it too much to not give it some shine here on #YTS. Katzu Oso is a seriously talented producer/singer out of Montebello. His synthpop style of music has a retro sound to it while maintaining a new-wave kind of vibe. Listen below:
Phillyblunts - So Funky (video)
We had a Phillyblunts video on here recently, and he follows that up with a trippy new visual for ‘So Funky.’ With minimal effects and only one location for the video, the attention is on the artist, and Phillyblunts lights up on this one. Watch below:
August Twelfth - Selfish (prod. Miguel London & August Twelfth)
Summer might be winding down, but don’t tell that to this young singer. This song just sounds like summer, and it’s the perfect way to introduce yourself to August Twelfth and his ridiculous vocal range.
EVERGREENS - Do To Me
Holy shit… so glad we stumbled across this one. EVERGREENS is a singer/producer tandem made of Treetop and Edboy, and for their first ever release, this is way too good. Edboy’s production is insane and Treetop lays down wavy vocals and lyrics that make this an awesome song. Listen below:
