Peso blessed his fans last night with the release of his mixtape Close To The Edge. Clocking in @ 10 tracks, its a solid body of work for a rising artist that is really coming into his own. He paints the picture of a young man that does what he has to in the streets, with a chilling calmness as he tells his story. His songwriting is leaps and bounds ahead of a lot of artists this young. He stays conceptual and really digs deep into his own brain in order to convey the emotions that the streets can bring out of some body. The tape's first song 'Young N*gga' is a standout, as Peso has an out of body experience while talking to himself about the decisions he's made. He tiptoes the line between maturity and preachiness, and the end result is hip hop that every generation can vibe to. Peso is as honest as it gets on beats, pouring his heart into every song while managing to stay catchy with his melodies and hooks. He taps in with Locks, Bruce 24kk & Ron Ron for production, in addition to self producing 'My DM.' This project is a big step in the right direction for an artist poised to explode in 2018.
