AzChike - My World (mixtape)

A city as buzzing as LA is home to many talented artists. So many, that it can be easy to look over or miss out on some real quality music. AzChike, however, is proving to be a talent so massive and magnetic that he can't be ignored.

His new mixtape My World feels more like a debut album, with 12 tracks that each bang as hard as the last -- proving that 'Burn Rubber Again' was merely the tipping point of a career that is about to explode.

From the first joint 'Myself,' you come to the immediate realization that shit is changing for Chike. There's a sense of charming arrogance that only comes when the lane to success is dead ahead. Plenty or artists talk similar shit, but most fail to sound credible. AzChike on the other hand, seems destined to reach everything he speaks in his music.

His vocal command is impeccable, and he's mastered his own sound to the point that you can only make broad comparisons to artists like Drakeo, AzSWAYE or guys doing it in The Bay. He's internalized those before him and carved out his own lane. It's safe to say that nobody sounds like AzChike.

'Licked Up' prod. LowTheGreat gives fans yet another collab between AzChike and Almighty Suspect, which is quickly proving to go crazy every time. Honestly, I can't think of another LA duo that brings this much energy every time their both on a track, with the exception of Rucci & Sean Mackk (RIP) who absolutely demolished every beat they came into contact with. It's more like an LA version of E-40 & Too Short, delivering consistent hits with a sense of chemistry that can't be faked. AzChike's got the ear of an experienced A&R, and it pays off with his beat selection on My World. Each track knocks to the point of having to adjust your speaker systems bass settings. Contributions from LowTheGreat, S.Prod, LD Tha Monsta, Lil Rece, Daygo Raw, TooRawEnt, Deuce Smoov, Lil Laudiano & VP blend together to give AzChike a diverse set of sounds to showcase his skills. Sean Sauce keeps things sounding crispy, manipulating Chike's vocals to perfection, often times adding another layer of excitement to the record.

No DJ Mustard record on this one (something AzChike has previewed on Instagram), but that's probably for the best. A collab that huge will better serve him once he has more people watching.

My World is going to wake up plenty of doubters though, and slap a lot of haters with the reality that AzChike's a bonafide star in the making. Listen below:
