Carson native Allie Kay had been talking about ending her rap career on social media, but she flipped the script and hit fans with her new Del Amo EP instead. Whether it was strategic marketing or a genuine retirement consideration, we're happy she decided to keep the music coming. Del Amo is a six song reminder that Allie Kay is still full of charisma and talent. Her attitude is admirable, and her confidence is second to none. Her constant effort to put on for Del Amo is as authentic as it gets. You gotta respect somebody trying to put their city on the map.

The title track 'Del Amo' puts Allie's entire arsenal on display with a mix of aggressive rap bars and soft background vocals. She can do a little of everything and she's able to create a vibe that is pop enough for the radio while maintaining a street persona. JHawk handles production throughout, which was definitely the right choice for Allie's comeback project. A veteran like JHawk is able to create almost anything in the realm of hip hop, and he cooks up the perfect beats for Allie Kay's unique sound. West Coast bass lines keep shit knockin, but he further enhances Allie's pop vibes with sounds that you aren't hearing anywhere else in rap right now. We're talking beats that are Nicki Minaj worthy. This is Allie Kay's first music in about a year, and it may be your introduction to the young female MC. Whether you're a day one fan or just getting acquainted, you'll be pleased to hear the energy she brings. Listen below:
