Lakers Summer League Recap
Lonzo Ball

The apparent heir to the thrown that is Los Angeles sports. There is nothing that can compare to being the the man on the Lakers and on October 17th (1017 briiiiiiiick squuuuuaaad) he’ll be that dude. Let’s be real, Lonzo came and D Russ was shipped. I was skeptical, and althought it's only summer league, the dude showed out and took home the summer league MVP. Let’s keep it going Lonzo.
Brandon Ingram

Not much here, he gained weight, played 20 minutes of summer and is primed to go out and take souls. There is an enormous amount of pressure on the kid because while Lonzo will get the headlines, Ingram is really the player Magic is putting all his chips on.
Ivica Zubac

Okay, the biggest disappointment on the court this summer. Laid an absolute egg. After flashes of being able to rim protect, shoot, and finish at a good rate last season, he looked like a slug this summer. He couldn’t jump and couldn’t move his feet. Besides the occasional glimpse of what we saw last year, and the ability to hit 20-foot jumpers, he’s got nothing to keep him off the pin
Josh Hart

Hurt, but a winner, but hurt. (Kanye shrug on his career at the moment)
Kyle Kuzma

Legit the future GOAT. Excuse my hyperbole, but this is not the kid from Utah that the Lakers front office drafted. Career high in college was 24 , yet he had a 30 piece in the summer league final. He could be the catch and shoot, spacing, small ball, foil to Julius Randle we've all been needing. Interesting to see how the roster folds out with Kuzma, LNJ, Randle, Zubac, and now Brook all looking for minutes. I predict that if Kuzma can continue the form he was in during the summer league, we could be saying goodbye to LNJ or Zubac. Hopefully, Julius Randle has been working on that jumper . . .
Thomas Bryant

In all honesty his energy is amazing he’s a footer that should be lethal in pick and roll. He’s very raw and at the moment not signed so it will be interesting where he will end up on the roster. But in comparison he looks to be ahead of Zubac, because well Zubac hasn’t gotten any better. Though he hasn’t signed yet I’m sure the Lakers FO will sign a 7’ center that can finish with authority and hit open threes. Someone to watch out for in next years summer league and on the G-league this year.
Alex Caruso

Another future GOAT (hyperbole). The kid looked really impressive both on and off the ball. Thing here is he’s 23, and signed on as one of the two-way players, but in all honesty will likely be off the roster when the Lakers become the Monstars in summer 2018.
