New Music: CaylaJames - Deep Cover (remix)
CaylaJames might be a superstar in the making.
She's been doing music since the age of 5, but held off until yesterday to release music on SoundCloud. It definitely doesn't sound like her first song though. She's got the attitude and confidence of a hip hop veteran, with fierce lyrics on her remix of a true West Coast classic. Plus - she name dropped the GOAT Lavar Ball so she gets extra cool points.
Cayla says this combination of grittiness, wordplay and straight bars is a reflection of where she comes from (LA's Crenshaw District) and what she wants to represent. She says, "Timing & product is everything. I wanted to make sure what I was releasing with MY NAME on it was my best work that I was going to showcase, and that's exactly what I did."
