Following the release of his album My Mental Diary 3, Ken Malik is already back with a new single 'Shouldn't Be Like This.' Production is handled by Jay GP Bangz, who is obviously one of the Compton rapper's favorite beat makers to collaborate with.
Like most of Malik's music, this is a record filled with pain as he breaks down some of the struggles that come with growing up without the opportunities of others. His insight and awareness is light years ahead of most artists this age. While many seem intent on making party music to perhaps mask the emotions that their environment brings out of them, Malik is looking at things straight up, and speaking without a filter.
He's right though. It shouldn't be like this. Yet, for so many it is. He's the right voice to bring to light some of the problems that impoverished neighborhoods are battling everyday. Listen below:
